Rasheed Flowers play two sports at the NCAA Division I level, so it’s no surprise that he found his identity in sport and sport performance. But early on, due to his Christian faith and connection with sport ministry organizations like AIA and FCA, Rasheed knew identity in sport was a losing proposition. Now a doctoral student at the University of Kentucky, Rasheed is building on this experience in his research studying the effects of sports ministry involvement for African-American college football players at the highest level in the South Eastern Conference.
